University of Phoenix is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. Different programs at the University of Phoenix are accredited by different agencies:
- Business programs like Bachelor of Science in Business, Master of Business Administration etc are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.
- Nursing programs like The Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Master of Science in Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
- The Master of Arts in Education program with options in Elementary Teacher Education and Secondary Teacher Education is preaccredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) for a period of five years, from December 20, 2007 to December 20, 2012.
- The Master of Science in Counseling program in Community Counseling (Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona campuses) and the Master of Science in Counseling program in Mental Health Counseling (Salt Lake City, Utah campuses) are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs
