Good Morning.

ILANA: Good Morning, Thanks for having us, glad to be here.

DAVID: Yeah, in this past week now, I’ve covered the story about community colleges and how they’re hurting with the government, with the state budget having problems, of course, and everything’s being underfunded right now. How does that work with a private school like yours?

ILANA: What’s so important with California Miramar University is our affordable tuition. We are a fraction of the cost of other universities. So when times are tough, money is tight, you want to go where you have the least pain to your bank and affordable tuition at CMU makes all the difference.

DAVID: So let’s talk about that a little bit, compare it to say, San Diego State School if you could, in a kind of a generic term but how much does it cost to attend the school.

ILANA: Absolutely. Our tuition is only 2.35 a credit hour and undergrad is only 1.55 a credit hour, which is a fraction of a cost of private schools. San Diego State and programs like that has state government money coming in so this is super affordable. Really a tremendous opportunity, there’s nothing like it.

DAVID: What about your teachers, your professors, where have they come from, what type of background do they have?

ILANA: It’s a business school and what’s phenomenal is that our professors have real world business experience. They’ve been in the job, they know the field that they teach, our human resources professor, human management professors, they know their fields and they have the experience. And they have a passion for the classroom, a passion for teaching, they’re not concerned with dealing with concerns like research, only teaching in the real world business experience.

DAVID: You’re talking business school, I’m assuming that you can get better, you can major in accounting, economics. What are some of the topics that you cover.

ILANA: Absolutely, so there’s a associate program, a bachelor’s program and I’m not certain, a business administration? And all business programs, a range of areas, with millions of importance is you’re having access with students and faculty who share your experience. In the high bred program for example, you’re in a class with other students in an arena filled with a lot of entrepreneurs who are interested in starting their own business, working inside of, you know, in San Diego, we have a number of small businesses.
